The NSANYS team showed their spirit at the Autism Speaks Walk! NSANYS Community Health Director, Sarah Ebrahim shares:  "As future nurses it it important that we learn what it means to fight for our patients. Supporting Autism Speaks supports the thousands of families that are struggling financially and/or socially to find resources to support someone with autism. Bringing awareness to autism also ensures the safety and respect that people with autism deserve. Thank you to all that came out and enjoyed a beautiful day!

NSANYS EMERGENT PREPAREDNESS EVENT & WALK TO END ALZHEIMER'S

NSANYS First Emergent Preparedness Event At Molloy College was a total success!! NSANYS Community Health Director, Sarah Ebrahim shares: "Thank you to all the nursing students that came out! It is important that we, as future nurses, are trained for emergencies. Since it is currently peak hurricane season, students focused on learning how to help communities prepare for different categories of hurricanes. The first step is understanding how a community functions on a normal day, so health professionals are better prepared to treat them in the wake of disaster. Nursing students enjoyed learning to wrap injuries and discuss how to prepare communities for hurricane season."

An update from Deborah, event organizer for NYP: “The Annual Domestic Workers Health Fair was a huge success on Wednesday with nearly 120 nannies in attendance and over 200 books offered to the children they care for. We had 2 RNs from WC/ACN women’s clinic, 1 NP diabetes educator, 1 critical care RN, and 5 nursing students from local colleges. They did a great job of screening and counseling the participants on diet and healthy lifestyle choices.”
